Neo Horse Chestnut 45 Capsules

Horse Chestnut is a tree of the Sapindaceae family. Its name is thought to refer to the similarities of its fruits to chestnuts together with the observation that eating the fruit cured respiratory illnesses in horses.

The active part of this tree are the seeds, which are very rich in triterpene saponosides, the most common of which is Escin (a mixture of 30 saponins derived from aglycones). Other active substances can be found in this plant, such as anthocyanins and flavonoids.

Properties

Traditionally, the Horse Chestnut has been used for its anti-inflammatory and venotonic benefits (reducing the permeability of capillaries and blood vessels). This prevents water retention and favors proper blood circulation, mainly in the lower limbs, in cases of varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency (swollen, tingling sensation, leg fatigue, nighttime leg cramps).

Its action lies in its ability to decrease the destruction of proteoglycans (structural substances in the walls of blood vessels) and improve the calcium entry. Moreover, it is effective to prevent and treat hemorrhoids.

Main indications

Varicose veins and leg fatigue.

Hemorrhoids.

Directions

1 or 2 capsules daily, with a glass of water.

Warnings

It can very infrequently cause gastrointestinal discomfort, dizziness, headache or itching.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: effects have not been described.
